When people ask what the difference is between bespoke tailoring and Made-to-Measure, we say it’s like comparing a Jaguar with a Bentley. Both are amazing quality cars, but one is primarily made by machine and the other by hand.
Two routes, one destination
However you arrive at it, the aim is the same: a suit made for you, not adapted from a shelf. Made-to-measure and bespoke are simply two different routes there, and neither is a compromise version of the other.
Made-to-measure adapts an established pattern to your measurements and chosen details. Bespoke begins with a pattern created exclusively for you, refined through a fitting until every line sits exactly as it should. Toby will talk you through both at your consultation and recommend the one that best suits you.

Begins with nothing but you. Toby creates a pattern that belongs to you alone, refined through fittings until it's entirely your own.

How long each route takes
As a general guide, made-to-measure takes a minimum of around eight weeks, while bespoke tailoring typically requires a minimum of around fourteen weeks. Timings can vary by garment and the level of customisation involved, and Toby will confirm what to expect for your particular order at your consultation.
