Womens Tailoring

03 February 2014

In response to direct demand, Hemingway has unveiled a new womens tailoring service. After offering men’s tailoring for 35 years, we have made a bold move in the industry, by launching our service to women across the country. Our current male clients include business leaders, celebrities, sports stars and even Royalty. Following suit, one of the first female customers to take advantage of the new service has been Claire Young, a previous runner-up in BBC 1’s ‘The Apprentice’. Claire Young explains, “Having everything tailored to your exact measurements means that any areas you are self conscious about can be taken into consideration. Toby Luper invests time and effort getting to know you, and your style, and then creates a suit you look and feel a million dollars in. It’s a real skill.”

For a made to measure suit, one of Hemingway’s tailors will visit the client at a place which is convenient for them – be it at home, at the office or elsewhere. Two further fittings will follow before the final suit is ready to wear. Toby Luper commented: “For many women, finding the perfect fitting suit in a high street store is impossible. The leg length is wrong, the arms too short, the chest is strained…the list can go on and on. Plus the quality rarely lives up to the price tag. “A made to measure suit, tailored specifically to your exact measurements, is the only real way to make sure you get the perfect fit and excellent quality. It’s particularly important given a suit may often be the most regularly worn item in your wardrobe – it’s worth spending a little bit more to get something which will wear well, and which you look and feel good in.”
