Prada showcases retro looks at MFW
One thing we’ve loved about fashion week season this year is the incredible variation between looks. Each designer seems to have found their own niche and gone with it, creating a number of looks we are excited to start experimenting with come the autumn. One designer that caught our eye in particular during Milan Fashion Week was Prada and their glamorous retro collection.
For women, we can expect satin dresses, gold foil coats and (sorry girls) skyscraper heels to be filling the racks and display windows come September, but don’t be put off by the sound of all that. The addition of gold to any outfit needn’t look tacky or cheap but expensive and chic instead, and skyscraper heels with a bespoke suit are a great way to turn a work outfit into an outfit suitable for the party in a flash. Going retro isn’t reserved for the kookier fashionistas this year and it needn’t be clichéd, either. As men are encouraged to attempt handlebar moustaches and to try a cravat, women should experiment with some of their favourite looks of times gone by, too! If shoulder pads were able to make a comeback, gold coats can too…
At Hemingway Tailors we love it when our clients want to experiment with retro suit cuts and shirt styles. Whether you opt for retro patterns or old school fits, we’re more than able to make your tailored suit look the part and will work hard to ensure you are happy with the finished product.
