Nick Grimshaw crowned menswear ambassador for next London Fashion Week

03 February 2014

London Collections: Men have named radio DJ Nick Grimshaw as their most recent menswear ambassador. Grimshaw, best known for his current role as the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show DJ, is a 29-year-old Liverpudlian who's been involved in BBC radio and TV since the BBC’s ill-fated Switch teen strand launched in 2007.

While a radio DJ might, at first, seem an unlikely choice for such a role, Grimshaw has great influence in both fashion and youth culture, with some modelling experience too.

The chair of London Collections: Men, shared why they settled on Nick Grimshaw for the ambassador role. "[His] innate style, his enormous influence, and his enthusiasm for British fashion" make him the “perfect choice.”

Grimshaw joins the ambassador line-up of supermodel David Gandy, rapper Tinie Tempah and TV presenter Dermot O’Leary.

London Collections: Men is the menswear equivalent of the London Fashion Week. Still in its infancy, the event was first held in Summer 2012. The January 2014 event aims to promote British menswear, from high-end tailors to emerging designers.
