Father’s Day Gift Inspiration

13 May 2016

Men in general can be pretty difficult to buy gifts for, and it’s made even harder when you’re wanting to find something a little extra special. With Father’s Day fast approaching we’re sure there’ll be plenty of people caught up in the dilemma of finding the perfect gift for their loved one.

To help make life easier for you, we’ve come up with a list of ideas you can use as inspiration to help find that perfect gift.

Experience days

There are a wide range of experience days available out there, however for Father’s Day we’d recommend driving and flying experiences. The most popular driving experiences come in the form of track days and are available in a variety of packages with options to thrash around modern super cars or classic motors dating back a few decades for the older dads. The only other thing left to decide is if their more suited to driving the cars themselves or better served experiencing the speed as passengers – either way it’ll make a car lover’s dream.

If cars aren’t their thing, then why not take to the sky. Flight experiences are great as it’s something not many people are likely to have tried and are probably unlikely to try - unless of course it’s gifted to them. From flying lessons, to sightseeing tours, to passenger experiences in planes such as a World War II Spitfire, there’s something to cater for most dads when it comes to flight experiences.

Sports events

Football? Tennis? Rugby? Whatever sport the old man might be interested in you’ll be sure to find an event taking place this summer. From the FA Cup Final, to Euro 2016, to Wimbledon, to the British Grand Prix and beyond, the next few months are packed with sporting events. However, with tickets usually selling out fast you’ll have to be quick to make sure you aren’t left disappointed.

Food with a view

Understandably, some dads might not have an interest in the likes of cars, planes and sports – however we’re certain every man can appreciate good food. Finding the perfect place to eat can be tricky given the plethora of options available to you, however we recommend you narrow your search down and make it a truly memorable experience by enjoying good food alongside a great view. Take a look at this guide for a list of restaurants with amazing views in London to help you decide where to dine.

Professional photo shoot

Want to give a gift with an added element of sentiment? Then you could organise a family photo shoot. While this might not be a common gift for most men, it’s a great opportunity to get the family together, get dressed up and create some ever lasting memories.

Tailoring experience

If the above options are lacking the desired wow factor, or you’re looking to give something that’s truly personal, then you really can’t go wrong with a tailoring experience. Hemingway’s tailoring experience allows you to gift your father a bespoke or made to measure suit or shirt which is crafted to fit him perfectly. However, he won’t only be left with a wonderfully fitted garment, but he’ll have also experienced the gradual process of it being crafted around him through multiple fittings running over a number of weeks – which is sure to have him feeling every bit as special as you intend him to feel.

The material you choose for the suit or shirt is packaged and presented beautifully in a box which you can present to the recipient. This means that they get the joy of receiving a physical gift along with the tailoring experience which follows.

Regardless of what you decide to go for we’re sure it’ll be a day to remember. If you are interested in the tailoring experience then be feel free to get in touch and we’ll happily run you through exactly how the process works.
