Female celebrities sport classy tailored suits

While in some circles the bespoke suit is associated more with the world of men’s tailoring, the world’s glamorous women have been known to cut a dash in a fine tailored suit from time to time, too.

Indeed, the suit is enjoying something of a resurgence in regard to women’s fashion, as this season’s catwalks often proved. While not all trends manage to migrate from the catwalk to the wardrobes of real women, we have a feeling that the feminine tailored suit might just be making a comeback.

While attending the opening of the Sydney Theatre Company’s Waiting for Godot this November, Hollywood A-lister Cate Blanchett was spotted wearing an elegant black suit and knee length skirt. The 44-year-old actress showed us that a suit can look sophisticated without coming across as austere, with the subtle lines of her jacket perfect for an evening at the theatre.

Tailored suits aren’t just suitable for a night of high culture, however. When former Pussycat Doll and star of ‘I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here!’ Ashley Roberts appeared on the ‘This Morning’ sofa, she was also sporting a tailored suit of her own. Ashley had chosen a less formal look than Cate, teaming her monochrome suit jacket and trousers with a white logo T-shirt and a dash of red lipstick.

Both women looked fantastic in their tailored suits, despite attempting completely different looks. The women’s suit is making a comeback, so why not consider making some changes to your own wardrobe this year?
