A Suit to Help You Beat The January Blues

A Suit to help you beat the January blues……

January is regarded by many as the most depressing month of the year. There are many contributing factors to this – such as the long wait until payday and the grim weather - but many of us suffer from the comedown of an overindulgent Christmas period. Many of us are now starting the New Year a few more pounds heavier than we finished the last and we have just made some new year’s resolutions that will probably not be intact at the end of the month, let alone the year! So instead of trying a new fangled diet or worrying about losing weight just follow Hemingway’s top tips on how to create a slimming suit.

1. Stand naturally when being measured – Gents, please don’t stand with your stomach sucked in and chest puffed out (if you don’t do so normally).

2. Opt for a one or two buttoned jacket. If you are short ask for slanted external pockets. These two points will help to elongate your body and make you look taller and thinner.

3. Wear your trousers long. They should almost touch the ground if you are wearing flat shoes but, if you have a heel, they should be on the heel at the back and just break slightly at the front. Too short and they will make you look “stubby”.

4. If your shape has changed – get your suit altered. If you don’t this will only accentuate the fact that you have added a few pounds.

A badly fitting suit can even make the trimmest of us look chubbier and can potentially affect your posture and how you walk. A tailored suit will always help you look at your best – at Hemingway we not only take down all of your basic measurements but we always take into account every figuration factor that makes your body unique.

So fear not if you added a few pounds over the festive season – at Hemingway tailors we can ensure that these are skilfully disguised!
